Privacy Policy

TaskHole is built to be private by default. Your to-do list lives on your phone, there are no accounts, and we don’t track you or sell anything about you. This policy explains the small amount of data that leaves your device and why.

What stays on your device

Your tasks — their titles, due dates, completion status, and settings — are stored locally on your device. We do not have a server that holds your task list, and we cannot see it. If you delete the app, that data is gone.

What leaves your device (and why)

To write a reminder in TaskHole’s voice for a specific task, the app sends that task’s title to our reminder-generation service (a Cloudflare Worker), which passes it to Anthropic’s language model to generate the lines. Along with the title we send a randomly-generated device identifier (used only to prevent abuse of the service) and your chosen snark level. We do not send your name, email, contacts, location, or any other personal information.

Task titles are used only to generate your reminders for that request and are not stored or logged by our service beyond the moment it takes to respond. If the service is unavailable, TaskHole falls back to reminders bundled inside the app, and nothing leaves your device at all.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled and delivered locally by your device’s operating system. We do not run a push-notification server and cannot send you anything you didn’t schedule.

What we don’t do

• No accounts or sign-up.
• No analytics or usage tracking.
• No advertising or ad identifiers.
• No selling or sharing of personal data.

Service providers

Two providers help deliver the reminder feature and process only the limited data described above: Cloudflare (which hosts the reminder-generation service) and Anthropic (which generates the reminder text). Neither receives personal information from TaskHole.

Children

TaskHole is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If we change this policy we’ll update the date above and post the new version here.
